Accounts
WLWA is primarily funded by a levy paid by the six boroughs. Some income is generated by other charges, including charges paid by businesses for the disposal of their waste.
The final accounts are prepared in accordance with statutory guidelines and the Local Authority Accounting Code of Practice and provide details of the Authority’s financial activities and of the overall financial position.
An update on 24/25 accounts
We have been unable to publish our accountability statements for the 2024/25 financial year by the publication date of 27 February 2026. The reason for this is that we are currently working with our external auditor and third-party accounting advisers to quantify the impact of correcting historic issues with the financial model used to account for the liability associated with our Waste PFI contract.
We acknowledge that we must publish or accountability statements as soon as is reasonably practicable.
