Peter Tilston appointed permanent Managing Director of West London Waste Authority

West London Waste Authority has appointed Peter Tilston as permanent Managing Director. Peter will lead the organisation as we continue to deliver essential waste and recycling services on behalf of our six constituent boroughs, while helping boroughs respond to changes in waste policy, increasing opportunities for reuse and recycling, and unlocking greater value from West London’s waste.

Chair of West London Waste Authority, Councillor Dominic Moffitt, said:

“I’m delighted to welcome Peter as our permanent Managing Director. Peter came up against stiff competition, but throughout the recruitment process he stood out for his clear vision for the Authority, his collaborative approach, and the progress made during his time as interim Managing Director.

Having led the Authority as interim Managing Director, Peter has already overseen significant progress across the organisation and has helped strengthen its focus on health and safety, service delivery, and continuous improvement.

We have strong foundations to build on, but we are not standing still. The challenges and opportunities the sector faces demand ambition, innovation and partnership, and I am confident that Peter will help us continue to raise our sights and deliver even more for our boroughs, residents, and stakeholders.”

Peter will lead the Authority's strategic direction, working with borough partners, contractors and stakeholders to ensure WLWA continues to deliver safe, reliable services while helping West London make the most of its resources and transition towards a more circular economy.
