Top tips for the festive break!

Do not put old batteries in your recycling box. You can take them to any local retailer that sells batteries as they offer a disposal service. More information can be found at www.recyclenow.com/what-to-do-with/batteries-1.

Brent Council

During the week commencing 26 December 2022 all general waste, recycling and food waste collections will take place 1 calendar day after your normal collection day between Tuesday 27 to Saturday 30 December. The garden waste service will be closed during this period.

During the week commencing 2 January 2022 all general waste will be collected on your normal collection day. However recycling and food waste collections only will take place 1 calendar day after your normal collection day between Tuesday 3 January and Saturday 7 January. The garden waste service will be closed during this period.

Ealing Council

Rubbish and recycling collection days will change over the holiday period. Collections will return to normal on 16 January 2023

Greenford re-use and recycling centre will be open as usual from 8am-4pm, except for Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

Until 29 January 2023, you can leave your tree on the front edge of your property, to have it taken away for recycling. Trees will be collected on the same day as your refuse collection (black bin) each alternate week. Tree trunks must not exceed 20cm in diameter or be more than six feet tall (taller trees can be cut in two) and please ensure all decorations are removed. The service is in place for real trees only, not synthetic ones

Harrow Council

During the Christmas and New Year period your blue bin, green or grey bin and food waste bin will be collected one or two days later than usual. Please leave these bins out according to the table that may mean leaving them out on both days as shown at here. Garden waste For garden waste customers, your brown bin service takes a break during the two weeks above.

Hounslow Council

Similar with other councils, most collections will take place one day later than your usual collection day. Excess rubbish left next to or on top of your wheeled bin will not be collected. Please keep this waste until your next rubbish collection or take it to Space Waye or your local Household Reuse and Recycling Centre - more information can be found here. Space Waye will be open as normal except on the following days; 25, 26 and 27 December and 2 January 2023.

Hillingdon Council

To minimise disruption, Hillingdon's collection crews will be working on 2 of the bank holidays - Tuesday 27 December and Monday 2 January. Collections will be a day later than normal up until 31st December with services resuming as normal from 2nd January.

Richmond upon Thames Council

Waste collections will be a day later than normal up until 7th January. Garden waste collections will continue until Friday 23 December 2022, then resume on Monday 9 January 2023. We will continue to collect bulky waste except on weekends and bank holidays
