West London Nappy Pack Launches
We’re over the moon to announce the launch of our new nappy packs. West London Waste has six free washable nappy packs to lend to west London parents. Once you experience what it’s really like to use washable nappies, we think you’ll be as excited as we are about them and their benefit to the environment – it’s the bottom line!
Did you know:
Nappies make up a significant amount of waste in families with babies and small children.
- One baby will have four to ten nappy changes per day – creating one kilogram of waste every day.
- There were just over 15,500 babies born in west London last year. At one kilogram of waste per baby per day, that’s almost 5,700 tonnes of nappy waste sent for disposal last year.
- That nappy waste costs £700,000 to bury or burn each year.
We want everyone in west London to have the chance to try washable nappies to help reduce waste. Once you give them a go you’ll find washable nappies are easy to use, kind to your pocket, great for the environment and stylish too. But don’t take our word for it – find out for yourself!
How to borrow a pack
We’d love to lend our packs to anyone but sadly we can’t. The great news is we can if you live in one of the following London Boroughs: Brent, Ealing, Harrow, Hillingdon, Hounslow or Richmond upon Thames. You must also have a child in nappies and be able to show us paperwork that proves you are a parent and live in one of the 6 boroughs listed above.
We’ll come to meet you somewhere close to home, perhaps a baby group you go to or a local café, to lend you the pack. You’ll be able to keep it for three weeks and we’ll be at the other end of the phone or email if you need a helping hand. The packs are free to borrow. All we ask is you return it in the same working condition you receive it in. Once your three weeks is up we’ll come collect the packs and hope you’ll invest in your own washable nappies to use on your little one.
