Get on Board the Campaign to Shrink West London’s Waste Train!
The Rubbish Diet has launched a campaign to help shrink the size of West London’s Waste Train.
The West London Waste Train leaves London 6 days a week. It is 1/3 of a mile long and takes over 10 minutes just to pull out of the station. It is made up of 26 carriages holding 78 containers full of household waste from just 6 London boroughs – Brent, Ealing, Harrow, Hillingdon, Hounslow and Richmond. The train’s contents goes straight to landfill here in the UK.
The truly shocking thing about the West London Waste Train though is that 67% of its contents could have been recycled!
