Shoppers recycle your electrical items – It’s as easy as 1, 2 and 3!
Does your home have electrical items in cupboards, under stairs and in the loft you don’t use anymore and just haven’t got around to getting rid of? If your answer is yes, then now is the time to spring clean your home and bring unwanted and broken electrical items to be recycled FREE OF CHARGE at The Mall, Uxbridge Shopping Centre.
In partnership with West London Waste and DHL Envirosolutions, The Mall Uxbridge will be collecting small electrical items for recycling from Saturday 13th April until Friday 3rd May between 9am-6pm Monday-Saturday and 11am-5pm on Sundays. You can bring any electrical items that have batteries, a power plug or a charger linked to mains electricity or a renewable power source that you can fit inside a carrier bag. This includes every day appliances such as an electric toothbrush, iron, kettle, toaster, toys, torches, printers, cameras and many more.
By recycling, shoppers will be helping the environment. Each year in the UK we go through over 1.2 million tonnes of electrical waste and much of it is sent to landfill. That is the equivalent of 150 thousand double decker buses! Residents will be helping to save landfill space by recycling old electricals instead of throwing them away, in addition to saving valuable materials that are built into items and preventing environmental harm.
Additionally shoppers can join West London Waste on Saturday 27th April between 11am and 4pm, for children’s workshops (4-12 years) where you can come along and enjoy crafting with reusable materials. There will also be lots of information about how you can save up to £50 a month with Love Food Hate Waste. For more information visit the events section.
