Let’s all Recycle for London
A recent poll of Londoners found that 55% of us are adamant that everybody should recycle and that two-thirds of Londoners would feel more pride in the city if we all did more to be environmentally friendly.
There are lots of things we can all do so let’s start with doing #JustOneThing, with the help of the new Recycle for London website.
Not only does this website have lots of information for residents and visitors to the capital on what they can and can’t recycle in their postcode area, it has helpful tips and suggestions on how to reduce waste, re-use more and a quiz to help you see what type of recycler you are!
Recycle for London has identified five common attitudes towards recycling in the city – Go Greener, Re-cynical, Penny Pragmatist, Everyday Helper or Evangelical. Take the quiz and be matched up with ideas for the one thing you could to recycle more as well as receiving practical hints and tips about recycling.
DID YOU KNOW: if every Londoner recycled one more glass jar every week, the capital would save 10,000 tonnes of glass from being thrown away every year. That’s more than half the weight of the glass on the Shard.
Visit the Recycle for London website for lots more information, fabulous waste facts for London and a list of events you could go along to.
Or join the conversation online using #JustOneThing and help boost recycling rates across the capital. London’s current recycling rate is 34%, can we all help London hit the Mayor’s target of recycling 50% of local authority-collected waste by 2020?
