2014/15 was a fantastic year for our waste prevention work – thanks to you
We have published the results of our Waste Prevention Action Plan for 2014/15. With 10 of the 11 actions achieved and in many cases exceeded, the annual report shows the success of engagement measures with an increase in website traffic of 26%, a social media reach increased to over 5 million, over 4000 people spoken to at events plus delivery of a food waste campaign with a reach over 12 million.
The waste prevention work focuses on five key materials; food, textiles, furniture, electrical items and nappies, which make up a large percentage of the residual waste stream.
Thank you to everyone who has come along to an event, the groups who’ve worked with us to host events, everyone who replies to our tweets or re-tweets our information.
