Slim Your Bin this month with the Rubbish Diet
Is your bin too full or too smelly? Or is there just too much stuff? The West London Rubbish Diet Challenge will solve your waste problems by shrinking what you send to landfill and saving you money!
West London Waste have joined forces with the Rubbish Diet team to help West London residents to slim their bin in 2014 by taking up the new easy to do Rubbish Diet challenge.
The four-week challenge, which launches on January 20, involves finding ways to reduce the amount of waste your household throws away. There are just four steps to follow over 4 weeks – starting with recording the amount of waste you are throwing away, and thinking about what you could have done with it instead.
‘Dieters’ are given a host of information about alternatives to just throwing it out, including what can be recycled in their area, how to shop with waste in mind and great ways to quickly and simply re-use. By sticking to the steps and advice provided, your waste bin will be looking slimmer in no time!
The Rubbish Diet Bin Doctors and the West London Waste Team are on hand to offer helpful hints, tips and advice on ways to reduce waste and to answer your questions.
Local resident Debra became Harrow’s Bin Doctor in November and has learned loads over the last couple of months that she really wants to share, “we already have 50 households in Harrow signed up to the Rubbish diet challenge – over the next few weeks I will be out and about talking Rubbish with more people and hopefully signing up lots more households. The Rubbish diet is really easy to do and really does make a difference – most people reduce their waste by 40% and save money too! Just sign up on the Rubbish Diet website or give me a ring to find out more about how to get started.”
