Residents of 6 constituent boroughs can book a home collection of textiles through TRAID.
Mixed textiles and clothes should be placed in a clear plastic bags or sacks, or in labelled plastic bags. These bags should be placed next to the blue top recycling bin on your collection day.
Any unwanted clothing, can be put in plastic bags and placed on top of or beside your blue wheelie bin for recycling on your next collection day.
Harrow currently do not offer a kerb side collection service for textiles but we encourage harrow residents to use TRAID’s home collection service.
Textiles and paired shoes should be place din a tied plastic bag and placed alongside your recycling boxes.
Once collected, the textiles are sent to a re-processor where they are sorted into different grades of textiles.
Hillingdon residents can place their textiles in the purple bags provided by the council. These bags will be collected on the same day as the clear recycling bags. You can order a roll of replacement sacks from Hillingdon Council’s website or you can pick them up directly from your local library.
Richmond upon Thames Council
Richmond residents can book a textile collection through TRAID’s home collection service. This new convenient service allows you to book collections for when you are home, so your textiles can be given directly to the driver.
