Gemma’s Six Items Challenge
Now it’s my turn for this 6-item challenge. Well, I am prepared. I thought about my most important clothing needs for the week. I work in more than one location, as I have three different jobs. One of them involves delivering organic locally sourced produce for a nonprofit veg box scheme. For this type of work I have to plan ahead. Overall I needed to make sure I had varied clothing for the manual work as well as office work and a publicity shot for my art funding.
The week started quite badly as I was ill. I chose the classic black trousers and black jumper. I was sure that these would be the trousers I would be living in for the next week.
Tuesday’s my office day at West London Waste so I was in pretty much the same outfit except the exchange of a black jumper for a long sleeve tee-shirt in… black!
Wednesday is my day at Crop Drop. The job is partially office-based, but we organize and pack the produce in the afternoons so I need versatile items. I added a hoody to yesterday’s outfit for this.
Thursday was delivery day which involves moving kilos of vegetables across Haringey. As I’m outside loading the van by 7:30 AM, it’s a cold start. I chose tracksuit bottoms and layered up with the first days jumper and hoody.
Friday I was ill so stayed in and didn’t need to get dressed!
Saturday I was still ill but I had to take my sculptures to a show, so I wore pretty much all of my items at once (well not the tracksuit bottoms).
My illness continued on Sunday. I am much better now and think that while the challenge seemed easy, I did require more clothes to keep warm. Probably because I felt under the weather but I like to layer up and with only six items it was hard!
