Do you have problems with a small electronic or electrical device, and you want to learn how to repair it? Restart Parties take place all over London but this is the first one in Hillingdon! Whether you’re a whizz at repairing or just like tinkering then bring your tools and come help others restart their things. This is a community repair event bringing people with repair skills together with people who want to learn how to fix their things.
Restarters can help by diagnosing the problem, helping with troubleshooting, advising on spare parts if necessary and fixing the problem if they can. Restart Parties are a collaborative learning process, not a “free repair” and so you need to be wanting to watch and learn rather than just waiting for someone to fix the item for you.
At this Restart Party people will be able to learn how to fix their electronic gadgets, their bikes and clothes.
If you’re bringing something to learn to fix please arrive before 1pm so we have enough time to repair.
The Rubbish Diet would like to hear from potential Restarters who can fix broken electronics at this Restart Party and others in west London. Can you fix anything with a battery or that plugs in? Restarters have diverse skills. Some help with basic electrical fixing involving changing fuses and plugs. Others deal with software issues on laptops and mobiles. What unites Restarters is the love of a repair challenge and their collaborative approach.
If you would like to volunteer to fix on the day you can join the London Restarters Meet Up page here http://www.meetup.com/Restarters-London/events/223303809/ or call Sarah on 07880931537 or email on firstname.lastname@example.org
