Western Entrance on Mattock Lane
West London Waste will be joining Ealing Council’s Recycling Team to host their Greener Living Event and annual compost giveaway on Saturday, 6 May 2017 at Walpole Park near the most western Mattock Lane entrance.
The compost give away will begin at 9:00 am with the main event running from 10 am – 1 pm. The event aims to show you how reduce your environmental impact and live more sustainably following the basic reduce, reuse and recycle principles. The day will include compost give away, recycling and composting information and demonstrations, seed/plant swaps, kids green crafts including weaving with dogwood, Dr Bike and representatives from the Friends of Pitzhanger Manor House & Gallery and Walpole Park and Transition Town, Ealing.
Please note that you may take up to 2 loads of compost from 9am-12pm, unrestricted after 12pm – a load is considered to be 1 full wheelbarrow or equivalent. This is to ensure that everyone gets a fair opportunity to collect compost.
Compost can easily be made at home using garden waste, as well as everyday waste items such as peelings, teabags, coffee grounds, filter paper and scrunched up newspaper and cardboard. Ealing Council, working with Straight Plc, is offering residents reduced prices on compost bins. Click here for more information.
