Events Assistant – Fixed Term
Scale point 4 sp 18 – 21 £19,918 inc. London Weighting (pro-rota)
WLWA are looking to employ Events Assistants for our upcoming schedule of events. Hours will be spread throughout the week to suit the timetable of events and will vary. On your application form, please specify the number of hours you would like to work from the minimum (8 hours) up to full time (36 hours).
Our Events Assistants are part of our Waste Minimisation Team and will help us deliver a challenging waste minimisation programme that aims to drive down waste arisings by helping persuade residents that reducing and re-using is the best option. Using their skills, our Events Assistant will attend large and small events across our 6 boroughs speaking to a wide range of people about the variety of things residents can do to reduce, re-use and recycle more. Communications Officer – Full Time (36 hours) – Fixed Term
Scale point 6 (£24,996 – £26,547 inclusive of London Weighting)
WLWA are looking to recruit a resourceful Communications Officer to work on an ambitious and challenging waste minimisation programme. The right person will be a highly organised individual with the skills and experience to help develop an effective communications and engagement strategy. The ideal candidate should have drive, enthusiasm and people skills to deliver successful campaigns and engage directly with a wide range of stakeholders. Ideally, you will have worked in a communications role and/or hold a relevant degree and you should have a keen interest in environmental issues.
You will be responsible for implementing the Authority’s communications strategy, managing day to day public affairs and developing and maintaining up to date digital and print resources.
Main Function of Job:
- To deliver communications support by developing communications resources for use in public relations,
- Marketing and promotion of waste minimisation in West London.
- To conduct research tasks, plan events, manage enquiries, administer plans and information,
- Develop and deliver communications and engagement activities in support of WLWA’s work to be leaders in treating waste as a valuable resource.
