This Business Plan 2016 - 2019, which was approved by the Authority, sets out under four key themes how the Authority will develop its services over the period of the Plan. The four key themes are:-
- Strategy and governance – To strengthen our governance and operations arrangements and refresh the joint waste strategy to build financial and operational confidence in the authority and guide how the business is developed.
- Waste Prevention and reuse – To deliver a comprehensive waste prevention strategy and waste minimisation campaign to support achievement of 50% recycling by 2020
- Market shaping, commissioning and managing services – To deliver value for money through the award and mobilisation of the residual waste services contract, market testing and procuring waste and recycling service contracts, and exploring innovate approaches to partnership working.
- Managing people and change – To create an effective and efficient Authority operating model by leading the transfer of staff to the Residual Waste Services partner and creating a high performing commissioning and expert and business support operations.
