On the third day of Christmas a Waste Elf gave to me 3 small bins
Bins may be an unusual “run up to Christmas” gift but having small ones is certainly a great present for your purse and the environment too. Of course, your fully reusable tree, mismatched gloves and the other 9 gifts from the Waste Elves won’t be going anywhere near your new bins so you won’t need a large bin in your kitchen, bathroom or bedrooms any longer!
We are so busy with the traditions of the season that we sometimes fail to notice how much actually ends up in the bin and recycling boxes. Working with rubbish and recycling, the Waste Elves see just how much extra waste is created over the festive season. Over the last few years we’ve seen around 19,000 extra tonnes of rubbish thrown away in the weeks after Christmas and New Year and this costs a lot of money to dispose of. You can easily reduce the amount on the Waste Train though.
Our Waste Elves will give you tips, ideas and practical help so that when Christmas comes there will be more time to spend with family, more money in your pocket and less going into your bin!
After Christmas you could put your bin on a diet by signing up to the Rubbish Diet or even signing up to do their Food Challenge. You’ll receive emails with information for your west London council area to help you reduce, re-use and recycle even more.
What will a Waste Elf bring you for the 4th day of christmas?
